Sarawak, Brunei to enhance transport links, streamline border movement
Sarawak and Brunei Darussalam have agreed to strengthen transport cooperation following a bilateral meeting. Sarawak's Transport Minister Lee Kim Shin met with his Bruneian counterpart, Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary Pengiran Dato Paduka Mustapha, to discuss improvements to land, maritime, and air connectivity. Key discussion points included upgrading border facilities, digitizing permit applications, aligning vehicle regulations, extending border crossing hours, and emergency cross-border transport procedures. Both sides shared updates on infrastructure projects and economic plans, emphasizing the importance of seamless cross-border movement for the benefit of both regions.
