Traffic congestion is building up on major Malaysian highways as people take advantage of the long Wesak Day weekend to travel. As of midday Sunday, northbound traffic on the North-South Expressway was slow moving, particularly around Rawang, Tapah, Gua Tempurung, and the Menora Tunnel. Southbound traffic experienced congestion at the Sungai Besi Toll Plaza, with increasing volume in Negeri Sembilan and Johor. The East Coast Expressway and Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway also saw increased traffic, especially at the Gombak Toll Plaza, though traffic flowed smoothly further down the road.
