Mas Gading MP urges review of Bau District redemarcation
Mas Gading MP Mordi Bimol has urged the Sarawak government to review the redemarcation of Bau District boundaries, prioritizing public interest and consultation. The recent redemarcation, gazetted in March 2022, has caused unease, particularly in Singai, due to a perceived lack of community engagement. Mordi claims that of the 15 affected Singai villages, only two remain fully within Bau District, four are split between Bau and Kuching, and nine have been fully transferred to Kuching. He argues this move disrupts community spirit, hinders access to services, and erodes Bau's identity.
