Being a foreigner doesn’t put you above the law — Saifuddin Nasution says visas won’t grant rule-breakers immunity
Malaysia's Home Minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, emphasized that no visa status exempts foreigners from adhering to Malaysian law. Firm action, including visa cancellation, blacklisting, and deportation, will be taken against any foreign national violating laws, regardless of their background. This includes breaches of pass conditions, security threats, and disruption of public order. He stressed that public safety and national sovereignty are paramount. The police operate professionally and without discrimination in enforcing the law. While recent incidents involving foreigners have gained attention, each case will be handled according to existing laws. He clarified that China is not among the 15 approved source countries for low-skilled workers, except for those involved in specific government projects like the ECRL.
