Global volunteers join hands to help preserve China’s heritage
Seventeen Chinese and international volunteers are participating in a two-week architectural heritage conservation camp in Pingyao County, Shanxi Province, China. They are restoring a centuries-old residence under the guidance of experts, learning traditional Chinese craftsmanship like the mortise and tenon structure. The program, organized by the Shanghai Ruan Yisan Heritage Foundation, also includes visits to historical sites like Pingyao Ancient City, Shuanglin Temple, and Zhenguo Temple, and interactions with local intangible cultural heritage practitioners.
