Universe dying faster than thought, says new research
Dutch scientists predict the universe's demise much sooner than previously estimated, though still incredibly far off (10^78 years vs. the prior 10^1100 years). The research, published in the Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, focuses on the evaporation of white dwarf stars, the universe's longest-lasting celestial bodies, based on Hawking radiation. While this revised timeline is significantly shorter, it poses no immediate threat to humanity, as the Earth's demise due to the Sun's expansion is expected in billions of years.
