Kenderaan kecil dinasihati elak guna L/raya Timur Barat waktu malam-kurangkan risiko diserang haiwan
Perak's Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) director advises motorists, especially those in small vehicles and motorcycles, to avoid using the East-West Highway (Gerik-Jeli) at night to minimize the risk of wildlife attacks, particularly from elephants. Elephant attacks are more common from dusk till dawn as they forage for food. A recent incident involved a car being attacked by elephants near Sungai Lebey around 8:15 pm, allegedly triggered by a honking vehicle. Drivers are urged to avoid provoking animals, refrain from honking, using high beams, taking pictures, or feeding them, and to adhere to road signs.
