Sabah Town Hall gathers input for criminal law reform
The Criminal Law Reform Committee (CLRC) held a Town Hall session in Sabah on January 10, 2025, to gather public input on proposed reforms to Malaysia's Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, and Evidence Act. Chaired by former Federal Court judge Tan Sri Datuk Harmindar Singh Dhaliwal, the session aimed to collect feedback on various aspects of criminal law reform, including new offenses, evidence law amendments, and fair trial principles. This initiative, led by Law Minister Dato’ Sri Azalina Othman Said, is part of a national consultation effort to ensure a just and effective legal framework.
