Sabah fights to save vanishing traditional foods at Heritage Festival
The Heritage Taste Festival @ Sabah (FCRW@S), held in conjunction with the Sabah Bajau Sama Cultural Festival, highlighted Sabah's disappearing traditional foods. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the Persatuan Suara Buluh Perindu Sabah, the festival featured a knowledge-sharing session on the historical, cultural, and ethnic significance of these foods, including Hinava/Umai, Kuih Cincin, Ambuyat/Pinantung, Tompe/Tinompeh, and Nonsom Bambangan. The goal is to raise awareness about preserving Malaysia's intangible cultural heritage.
