Controversial removal of Song Waterfront’s iconic dabai tree resolved, new planting at more prominent spot
The controversial felling of a culturally significant dabai tree in Song, Sarawak, has been resolved. The Kapit District Council (KDC), after facing public backlash, will plant a new dabai tree in a more prominent location. The original tree, located near a temple, was removed due to safety concerns during roadside clearing. This collaborative decision aims to preserve Song's cultural heritage and recognize the dabai fruit's importance to the community.
