Julaihi: Trusan Water Treatment Plant operations restored at midnight, Lawas supply expected to normalise soon
Water supply has been restored in Lawas, Sarawak, Malaysia, after repairs were completed at the Trusan Water Treatment Plant. The plant experienced a major breakdown affecting three out of four pumps, leaving the district with limited water supply since June 6. The Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) dispatched a team to expedite repairs, and supply was normalized around midnight on June 11. Tankers had been deployed during the disruption, but proved insufficient to meet demand, leading to public frustration and highlighting the recurring nature of water supply issues in the district.
