Atlantic salmon thrives in China, so does a Norwegian company
A land-based Atlantic salmon farm in Xiangshan County, Zhejiang, China, is supplying fresh salmon to the Chinese market. Norwegian company Nordic Aqua (Ningbo) established the facility in 2018, utilizing a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS). The locally raised salmon reaches consumers in the Yangtze River Delta within five hours and across China within 24 hours, eliminating the previous delays and high costs associated with importing. The company aims to meet the growing Chinese demand for high-quality, nutritious food like Atlantic salmon.
