New home, new hope for Pitas fire victim
Afnah Tundan, a 51-year-old mother of three who lost her husband, daughter, uncle, and home in a fire last year in Pitas, Sabah, has received a new house. The house was built with the help of the Sabah State Welfare Foundation (YKNS), Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah deputy chief Datuk Harun Ismail, and other generous individuals. The RM61,000, 500-square-foot home includes two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and basic amenities. YKNS contributed RM30,000, while the remaining funds came from CSR initiatives. The new house offers Afnah and her surviving children a fresh start after the devastating tragedy.
