Five races? Try as many as it takes, says Alpine boss Briatore on Colapinto
Alpine Formula One has replaced driver Jack Doohan with Franco Colapinto for an undefined number of races, starting with Imola. Team boss Flavio Briatore clarified that Colapinto's seat isn't limited to the initially reported five races, stating his tenure depends on performance, specifically speed, avoiding crashes, and scoring points. Colapinto expressed growing comfort with the car after the first practice sessions, while teammate Pierre Gasly's impressive third-fastest time boosted team morale. Briatore, who stepped in after principal Oliver Oakes's sudden resignation, emphasized the team's organizational stability despite the change.
