Menhan tinjau perolehan dua pesawat ATR-72 MPA di Turin, Itali
Malaysia's Defense Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, visited Turin, Italy, to inspect the progress of two ATR-72 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) being acquired for the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF). The acquisition, part of the RMAF's CAP55 plan, aims to strengthen maritime defense and enhance Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. The purchase agreement was signed during the 2023 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA '23) with Leonardo S.p.A., costing RM899 million under the 12th Malaysia Plan. These aircraft will bolster Malaysia's Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) in strategic waterways like the Strait of Malacca, South China Sea, and Sulu Sea.
