SUPP Bawang Assan helps Tg Kunyit family secure PPRS housing aid

The Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan Branch helped Ngieng Sii Kiong's family, residing in Tanjung Kunyit, secure a new house under the government's 'Program Perumahan Rakyat Sejahtera' (PPRS) initiative for the B40 group. The RM85,000 single-storey house, fully funded by the federal government, will replace their current unsafe stilt house. Ngieng, his wife, elderly mother, and two disabled children currently rely on his odd jobs and welfare assistance. SUPP Bawang Assan chairman Kevin Lau and officials visited the site to confirm the house layout and requirements.

Sarawak strengthens myKP to empower inland fishing communities

The Sarawak Fisheries Department continues its myKomuniti Perikanan (myKP) Programme to empower inland fishing communities and promote sustainable fisheries. The programme enhances fishers' skills, promotes resource conservation, and contributes to national food security. Launched in Kuala Sibuti in 2020, the community has successfully implemented four projects: Fish Aggregating Device, Fishery Product Processing, Boat Maintenance Shed, and Belacan Processing, with RM239,985 allocated from 2020-2025. The programme covers various activities, including capture fisheries, aquaculture, and agro-tourism, showcasing the community's self-reliance and adaptability.

Rh Chinda car park construction approved, to begin soon, says Lau

Construction of a car park at Rumah Chinda, Rantau Panjang, Sibu, funded by the Rural Transformation Programme, is set to begin soon, according to Councillor Kevin Lau. The project, approved by Premier Abang Johari Tun Openg, will be monitored until completion. Lau urged residents to be cautious during construction. Separately, maintenance work on Jalan Rantau Panjang, funded by MARRIS, has also started. Lau mentioned plans to widen the road's turning point for improved safety.
