Pamela Ling’s lawyer accuses MACC of ‘misleading’ public, says she wasn’t treated as mere witness
Datin Seri Pamela Ling's lawyer, Sangeet Kaur Deo, has accused the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) of false statements, intimidation, and abuse of process. Deo disputes MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki's claim that Ling was only a witness, citing Ling's arrest warrant, detention, handcuffing, overnight lockup, and interrogation. Ling was also required to post bail, report monthly, and was subjected to a travel ban. Deo argues this treatment is inconsistent with how a witness should be handled and that the High Court granting leave to challenge the arrest and travel ban further supports their claim.
