Orang dulu berkorban nyawa, kita korban duit beli bendera
Driven by patriotism, a 63-year-old rubber tapper, Mohd. Som Ahmad, decorates his ancestral home in Felda Bukit Rokan with hundreds of flags every Independence Day. This tradition, spanning over 30 years, is inspired by his late father, a policeman during Malaysia's early independence. Supported by his wife, Mohd. Som proudly continues this practice despite the cost, believing it's a small sacrifice compared to the struggles of those who fought for the nation's freedom. Two of his six children are now police officers, carrying on the family's legacy of service.
