‘Transporter’, pemandu teksi Danok dicekup seludup bunga ganja RM1.62 juta
Two men, including a Thai national, were arrested in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah, for allegedly smuggling 45.55kg of cannabis worth RM1.62 million. Kedah police chief, Datuk Fisol Salleh, stated that the drugs were found in two bags inside a Thai-registered Isuzu pickup truck at the ICQS checkpoint. The suspects, a 29-year-old Malaysian cargo delivery driver and a Thai taxi driver in his 50s, were apprehended. This marks Kedah police's first cannabis seizure. The street value of cannabis is significantly higher than regular marijuana, possibly catering to specific groups. The Malaysian suspect, a repeat drug offender, confessed to smuggling drugs across the Bukit Kayu Hitam and Sungai Golok borders for fees between RM1,000 and RM2,000.
