The Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak is ahead of schedule on Phase 1 of the Kuching Civic Centre roof replacement, expecting completion by year-end. The project, currently 16.61% complete, aims to improve the roof's safety, longevity, functionality, and user comfort. The replacement was necessary due to degradation of the original roof. JKR Sarawak director Dr Cassidy Morris recently inspected the site. The overall refurbishment of the centre, including incorporating Sarawakian design elements, is targeted for completion in early 2026.
