Johor's cooking oil shortage will be addressed through a new zoned distribution system starting tomorrow. Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Fuziah Salleh, stated that 17 zones have been identified across Johor, with 19 manufacturers assigned quotas to ensure equitable distribution of 3,112 metric tons of packaged cooking oil monthly. This system, already implemented in several other states, aims to prevent oversupply or shortages by assigning manufacturers specific zones. Nationally, 60,000 metric tons of cooking oil are produced monthly to meet demand, particularly for the B40 group.
