The Batang Saribas 1 Bridge in Pusa, Sarawak, Malaysia, is now open to the public after a 60-year wait. The 1.55km bridge, costing RM375.5 million including access roads, was officially opened by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas. It's the fifth of 16 bridges being constructed along the Sarawak Coastal Road, aimed at boosting economic and social activities in the region. Ferry services in the area have ceased operations. Several other bridges are expected to be completed this year and next.
