Singapore's Education Minister Desmond Lee has been appointed chairman of the ruling People's Action Party (PAP), succeeding Heng Swee Keat, who retired from politics. The PAP Central Executive Committee thanked Heng for his service. Ong Ye Kung becomes party treasurer, Chee Hong Tat assistant treasurer, and Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim joins the CEC and chairs the Malay Affairs Bureau.
