Malaysian national football team debutant Gabriel Palmero revealed he used YouTube to learn the national anthem, Negaraku, before the Tier 1 international friendly against Cape Verde. The 23-year-old defender impressed in the 1-1 draw, nearly scoring with a long-range effort. Palmero, who played for 80 minutes, praised the team's communication despite language barriers. Malaysia will face Cape Verde again on June 3rd in a closed-door friendly as preparation for their 2027 Asian Cup qualifier against Vietnam on June 10th.
