The current heatwave in Malaysia has boosted sugarcane farmers' income in Bagan Datuk due to high demand. Farmer Salman Basri, 57, reported selling 100-200 sugarcane stalks daily at RM1.50 each, compared to just 10 stalks previously. The hot weather has increased demand from juice vendors who struggled with sales during cooler periods.
