Petronas has reduced its workforce by 5,000 employees due to declining global crude oil prices and challenges in the oil and gas industry. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof clarified that the reduction is unrelated to issues involving Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (Petros). Fadillah, who is also the Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, emphasized the global factors impacting Petronas's decision.
