Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi urged the Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (Risda) to establish a High-Tech Rubber Depot in Tenom, Sabah, to boost the rubber industry. Sabah has the largest rubber plantation area in Malaysia. He also encouraged Risda to develop downstream rubber products, including biofuel from scrap rubber. Ahmad Zahid announced Bung Moktar Radin as Risda's honorary national advisor. He acknowledged the low rubber floor price but emphasized the government's commitment to transforming the industry through technology and innovation.
