Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas announced a RM16 million tender for the first phase of a Kubu Rentap replica in Betong, aimed at boosting tourism. The project will be located at the original site in Bukit Sadok. Uggah also urged longhouse chiefs to preserve Iban cultural heritage like 'berbiau', 'beganu', 'ngajat', and 'kuntau', especially among youth. He emphasized the tourism potential of these traditions and granted RM60,000 to the Spaoh Longhouse Chiefs Association for cultural activities.
