Malaysia's Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil announced an investigation into inconsistent 4G coverage by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). Despite a national average of 98.7% 4G coverage in populated areas, significant discrepancies exist between providers, with some reporting as low as 76% coverage. The MCMC will produce detailed state-level reports to ensure transparency and fairness. The Minister emphasized that customers paying for nationwide packages deserve consistent coverage and highlighted a new framework promoting network sharing between providers. This follows previous action against telcos failing to address poor internet access.
