Malaysia's sepak takraw team lost to Thailand 0-2 in the 2025 Asian Cup final, extending their 34-year title drought in the team regu event. Despite home advantage and strong support, both Malaysian regus lost to their Thai counterparts. The last time Malaysia won this title was at the 1991 SEA Games.
