Unpaid rent for People's Housing Project (PPR) and Public Housing (PA) in Kuala Lumpur has reached RM70 million, impacting facility maintenance. Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Mayor Datuk Seri Maimunah Mohd Sharif reported the arrears and outlined measures like water supply cuts, notices, financial advocacy, and installment plans to address the issue. DBKL is also considering resuming the sale of PPR and PA units to eligible tenants, a practice suspended in 2015. The mayor also addressed waste management, traffic congestion, and drug abuse during a community program.
