The fourth term of the 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) commenced in Kuching. Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar officiated the opening ceremony, which included a Guard of Honour inspection and the playing of national and state anthems. Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and DUN Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar were also present. Six bills, including two supplementary supply bills and amendments to the Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, Land Code, and Local Authorities acts, will be tabled during the sitting, which concludes on May 28.
