Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia have revised their flight booking name entry guidelines to better accommodate Southeast Asian naming conventions. The changes allow for more flexibility in handling names with non-Western structures, including those from Malaysia, China, India, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Both airlines now offer separate fields for given/first & middle names and family/last names. The updates address variations like Chinese and Vietnamese names where the surname may not be the last name on the passport, and the inclusion of titles like "Bin" or "Anak" in Malaysian names.
