Malaysia has formed the Accounting Fraud Task Force (KKFP) to bolster efforts in recovering funds and assets lost to corruption and misappropriation, particularly those hidden abroad. Led by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the KKFP comprises six other key agencies and aims to enhance detection, analysis, and enforcement actions. The task force will leverage specialized expertise and international collaboration to trace assets, with a focus on complex cases like the 1MDB scandal, where many assets are located overseas. Positive outcomes in asset recovery are expected within six months.
