The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) is developing a dashboard for hawker and small trader associations nationwide. This initiative, piloted with the Putrajaya Hawkers and Petty Traders Association (Penjaya), aims to empower these businesses with data-driven insights. The dashboard provides real-time information on economic conditions, tourist numbers, and spending trends, enabling informed business decisions. It also helps aspiring entrepreneurs understand existing market competition. DOSM Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Dr. Mohd. Uzir Mahidin anticipates nationwide implementation by year-end, pending positive reception from associations.
