The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has strengthened its maritime operational capabilities through strategic procurement agreements worth nearly RM1.19 billion at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2025 (LIMA'25). These agreements include the purchase of a Multi-Purpose Mission Ship (MPMS), maintenance of the Malaysian Maritime Sea Surveillance System (SWASLA), procurement of four medium-lift helicopters, and a Letter of Intent for two Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs). These acquisitions aim to enhance MMEA's preparedness for complex maritime security challenges, improve long-range patrols, enforcement operations, and search and rescue missions within Malaysia's maritime zone.
