Sarawak's Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) is set to launch in 2028, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion. The project, currently at 28.89% completion, will feature hydrogen-powered, autonomous rapid transit (ART) trams running on dedicated lanes. Three lines (Blue, Red, and Green) spanning nearly 70km will connect key areas in and around Kuching. The first two ART vehicles, each accommodating up to 300 passengers, are expected from China by year-end. Phase 1, including the Rembus-Riveria section of the Blue Line, will commence construction later this year.
