France plans to build a new high-security prison in French Guiana to house drug traffickers and Islamic radicals. Justice Minister Gerald Darmanin stated the €400 million (RM1.9 billion) facility will target organized crime across the drug supply chain. The prison, expected to be completed soon, will be located in the Amazon rainforest.
