The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is seeking to forfeit over RM2 billion worth of assets belonging to the late former Finance Minister, Tun Daim Zainuddin, and his family. MACC Chief Commissioner, Azam Baki, stated the assets are currently frozen and the action is proceeding despite Daim's passing last year. The move depends on the Deputy Public Prosecutor's agreement. Eight investigation papers were opened based on new information received from foreign agencies. MACC investigators have been given two months to trace undeclared assets, with investigations extending to Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
