Nine Pakistani and one Indonesian nationals operating as mobile traders, primarily selling carpets in Miri, Sarawak, were detained for lacking valid travel documents. The Immigration Department of Malaysia, in a joint operation with the Sarawak Security and Enforcement Unit, apprehended the men in various unnumbered rented houses around Pujut, Lutong, and Bekenu. The operation followed public complaints about their mobile trading activities. The detainees, who violated Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63, are being held at the Bekenu Immigration Detention Depot for further investigation.
