Express boat operator missing after collision with cargo vessel at Sibu’s Tg Kunyit
A 64-year-old express boat operator, Hui Chye Mee, is missing after his vessel collided with a cargo ship near Tanjung Kunyit, Sibu, on Tuesday night. The boat, believed to be carrying goods to longhouses, sank after crossing in front of the slowing cargo vessel. A search and rescue operation involving multiple agencies is underway, but Hui remains missing. The collision occurred around 6:27 pm, and while some debris was found, there was no sign of the operator. His son has filed a police report.
