Top 20 brands in May 2025 – Perodua sold 31,398 cars, Proton 12,751, Toyota 11,183; Tesla beats Merc, BMW
Perodua led Malaysia's vehicle registrations in May 2025 with 31,398 units, reaching a year-to-date total of 143,860, or 41% of its annual target. Proton followed with 12,751 registrations, then Toyota with 11,183, and Honda with 6,065. These four, along with Perodua, are the only brands with five-digit YTD totals. Tesla jumped to eighth place with 1,075 units thanks to customer car arrivals. The top seven brands remained unchanged from April 2025, including Jaecoo and BYD.
