Sarawak, Samarkand to explore new horizons in tourism, heritage
Sarawak's Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, led a delegation to Samarkand, Uzbekistan to explore tourism, heritage, and cultural exchange collaborations. Discussions with Samarkand's governor focused on leveraging Sarawak's upcoming airline to enhance connectivity and promote joint tourism initiatives. Both regions aim to capitalize on their rich cultural heritage, with Sarawak emphasizing its diverse traditions and creative industries. A separate MoU was signed with Uzbekistan's Fergana region for mutual cooperation in heritage, arts, crafts, tourism, and the creative industry.
