MyKiosk: All Tabuan Jaya Old Market stalls taken up, Friendship Park tenants awaiting final selection
All 28 MyKiosk stalls at Kuching's Tabuan Jaya Old Market parking lot are now occupied by formerly illegal hawkers and B40 traders. Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng stated that out of 53 applications, 28 were selected, offering a variety of food, drinks, and produce. The project, funded by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, provides a legal, safe, and clean operating space with six months of free rent, followed by a quarterly rental of RM140. Parking concerns have been addressed with kiosk repositioning. Two additional kiosks at Friendship Park are still under evaluation.
