Two policemen jailed, fined for corruption

Two Kota Kinabalu policemen were sentenced to jail and fined for corruption. Corporal Baharrudin Tuge received a one-year jail term and RM20,000 fine for accepting RM800 in bribes. Lance Corporal Mohd Izzam Gorudin Abdullah received a one-year jail term and RM12,500 fine for soliciting a bribe. Sarawak's Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development, Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo, announced that the RM22 million road upgrade project to SK Ulu Entaih and Rumah Sang in Rantau Chire, Ulu Entabai will be tendered in Q3 2024. Funded under the Rajang Delta Development Agency (Radda), the project includes upgrading 14km of existing road to JKR R1 Standard, improving two bridges, and replacing three steel bridges with culverts. The project is currently in its final stages of tender document preparation and land acquisition.
