Amal by Malaysia Airlines, specializing in Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages, plans to expand its services to several regional countries, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Brunei, and Singapore. The expansion will begin with dedicated connecting flights for Indonesian pilgrims. For the 1447H Umrah season, Amal has allocated 200,000 seats, with half reserved for 13 local Umrah operators and the rest for international pilgrims. The company sees the growing number of Umrah pilgrims as an opportunity for further expansion within Malaysia and the region.
