Tested positive for Covid-19? No quarantine, no check-in — here’s what to do now
As of May 1, 2025, Malaysia has revoked the declaration of all areas as infected, marking a shift away from emergency pandemic measures for COVID-19. While active cases have seen a slight increase, experts attribute this to waning immunity, increased travel, and reduced testing, assuring the situation remains under control. Individuals testing positive are no longer required to undergo Home Surveillance Orders or report through MySejahtera. Most new infections present mild symptoms, similar to URTI, due to vaccinations and acquired immunity. However, those with weakened immune systems, particularly the elderly, are advised to seek medical attention.
