Perak recorded 11,087 Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) cases as of May 3rd, 2025. 90.2% of cases were sporadic, while 9.8% were outbreak-related. Kinta district had the highest number of cases (2,911), followed by Manjung (1,546). 317 outbreaks were reported, mostly in kindergartens and preschools. Authorities inspected 4,766 premises, closing 267 under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 and 39 voluntarily for sanitation and to break the chain of infection.
