Regional scholars hold dialogue, learning, community engagement in Kundasang
The Southeast Asia Neighbourhoods Network (SEANNET) held a workshop in Kundasang, Sabah, Malaysia, from July 9-13, 2025. Scholars, artists, and educators gathered to explore neighborhood-based research, focusing on everyday life, memory, and resistance. Hosted by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and Universiti Malaya (UM), with support from the Henry Luce Foundation, the workshop aimed to reimagine urban research through the lens of neighborhood life. Organized by Vilashini Somiah and Trixie Tangit, the event highlighted Kundasang's Indigenous wisdom and served as a living archive of knowledge, exploring themes of justice, belonging, and coexistence in Southeast Asia.
