The Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) has warned that any decision by associations, including those representing private general practitioners (GPs), to introduce additional charges like prescription, registration, regulatory compliance, and facility fees could violate the Competition Act 2010. MyCC chairman Tan Sri Idrus Harun stated that such collective agreements on surcharges could be considered anti-competitive practices.
